Mountains of the North Wind
This piece was inspired by the Serra de Tramuntana mountain range in Mallorca.
During our time there, I became aware of how deeply landscapes can shape emotion. The mountains seemed to hold everything - the storms, the winds, the silence, us.
I painted this work while considering what protection feels like for me. The kind of safety that stands quietly beside you and gives you space to remember who you are.
The textures and fractures throughout the piece mirror that emotional terrain for me. There’s tension within it, but also softness. Movement beside stillness. A feeling I can only describe as balance.
