The Essence of a Dream
This work was born from our time in Mallorca, staying beneath the Serra de Tramuntana mountains in Sóller.
I remember waking each morning feeling held by the landscape - as though the mountains were standing guard around us. Although we were on the other side of the planet, we felt at home there for a while.
The layers in this piece became a way of processing those feelings. Not happiness exactly. Not escape. Just safety. Space to breathe. Space to dream again.
There are fragments of sea mist, shifting light, worn stone, and the colours that seemed to exist there just before sunset. Everything felt soft, emotional, and intimate.
Whenever I'm feeling off or disconnected, I return to the memories from this time in our lives and remember the sense of safety and connection we found there.
