i missed you

There are seasons when creating feels as natural as breathing.

And there are seasons when life asks for our hands elsewhere.

For a while, I stepped away from my art.

Not intentionally, not permanently, but slowly and quietly as other responsibilities, joys, griefs, travel, love and fatherhood filled my days.

And then one day I found myself missing it.

Not the outcome.

Not the finished piece hanging on a wall.

But the feeling of it. The relationship between me and my art - that sense of purpose

The conversation between hand and spirit.

The silence that arrives while making.

The returning to myself that art has always offered.

This piece is about leaning in and out of a creative practice and learning that Art, much like love is a part of me.

“I Missed You” is a reunion.

A remembering.

A gentle return to a part of myself that had been quietly waiting for this realignment with purpose.
